Prepare a flat surface working area. Counter tops do fine but tables are best. You will be using the bottom of the table as your measuring guide. This represents the bottom of your vase. Know the depth and height of your vase so your new arrangment will fit well in depth and not be too short.
Step 1
Cut a 1/4" from each stem as directed above (1/8" from foliage will do).
Step 2
Lay them out so you have a good view of each piece you're working with. Remember, your large flowers should be the center focus of your arrangment. Heleconia, Bird of Paradise and King Protea all work well here.
Step 3
Begin with the largest flower and place it in the center and high in the arrangement you are about to create. You now have your center focus and you're ready to begin to build on it.
Step 4
Selecting the 2nd to the largest flower lay it so its top is near the base of the 1st flower. Don't worry about the length extended over the base of the table... this is your cutting line. Note: every flower will fall in its own direction... let it lay where it naturally rests and work with the shape it provides for your design.
Step 5
Repeat the procedure with the next largest flower and so on, making sure the top of the flower is near to the base of the second flower. When you reach the smaller and more evenly sized flowers begin placing 2 at a time near the same height. They should always be a little lower or higher than the other almost never the same length.
Step 6
Add large foliage where it looks good and now you're ready to cut. Use the table's edge as your cutting guide. Holding down the flowers with one hand and using a sharp cutting tool with the other begin to cut one flower at a time.
Step 7
Take up the entire bunch and set them in the vase letting them fall loose. Now go ahead and move them around until you have the effect you want.
Step 8
Use the rest of your small flowers and foliage as accents and fill cutting them as you go. The clipped peices make good space holders inside the vase if needed. Throw the rest into your compost pile or bin... and add the rich Maui soil to your land.

That's it! You now have an exquisite floral arrangement to put in place. Don't forget to cut the stems every now and then and keep your water fresh.

Q. Okay, what's so special about the MFGA seal of approval?
Our association is made up of growers from around the island. We stand to face the challenges together in the industry. Some of those challenges are found in soil treatments, fighting insects and various tropical fungus and other crop hindrences. Our greatest challenge however is to produce premium quality harvest crops across the board. And we do! We take great pride in ensuring that our personal flowers always set the highest standards in the business and we do that by being selective. Not every grower on the island receive our seal. All strive for the same level of production and we take the responsibility to make sure they meet those goals.
Work with us, become our customer and you'll find that the MFGA seal of approval is something that is awarded to flowers and growers who have earned this reward setting them apart from all the rest.
Q. Can my gift box of flowers be delivered any day of the week?
No and we wish we could. Exotic floral deliveries from Maui are currently sensitive to the Federal Express schedule. There are no deliveries on "Sundays" and we can arrange one on "Saturdays" with an additional FedEx shipping fee.
